This is our direct-client opening for a Ruby on Rails Engineer located in Leesburg, VA. This is a 6
month contract-to-hire and the hourly rate will depend on experience. A telecommute option will be available but this will vary over time depending on future client engagements.
Required Qualifications:
United States Citizenship
Bachelors degree in computer science or other related scientific or technical discipline (or the equivalent in relevant training and/or practical experience)
5 years professional project experience with software engineering
1 solid year professional project experience with Rails development (2.3.x - 4.1.x)
Specific experience with REST/JSON based APIs, Javascript/jQuery, CoffeeScript
Experience with TDD and/or BDD
Experience with Git/Github for version control
Ability to perform at a high level as a largely self-directed member of a distributed team in an Agile environment
Collaborates well with others
Solves problems logically and efficiently
Appreciates and enjoys software engineering as a discipline
Engages in continuous learning and applies new tools/techniques as appropriate
Contributes to open source projects and the technology community
Qualifications:
Database: MongoDB, MySQL
Mobile Development: Native iOS or Android, PhoneGap
Search/Analytics: Solr, ElasticSearch
Platform: Heroku, AWS (EC2, ELB, S3, RDS)
