Summary:
This is an opportunity for a Sports Science Internship opportunity with D.C. United framework. The internship is designed to provide valuable hands-on experience for students pursuing sports science opportunities, and it aligns perfectly with the educational requirements for school credits. This position will work out of Inova Performance Center in Leesburg, VA. This is an unpaid internship.
Duties and
Responsibilities:
Data Collection and Analysis:
Assist in collecting and analyzing performance data during training sessions and matches.
Work closely with our sports scientists to interpret data related to player fitness, workload, and recovery.
Fitness Testing and Assessment:
Participate in fitness testing protocols for players.
Help monitor player progress and adapt training programs accordingly.
Injury Prevention and Rehabilitation:
Collaborate with our medical staff to implement injury prevention strategies.
Observe rehabilitation sessions and contribute to player recovery plans.
Sports Nutrition and Hydration:
Learn about nutritional requirements for athletes.
Assist in promoting proper hydration and recovery strategies.
Research and Development:
Stay updated on sports science literature and contribute to ongoing research projects.
Propose innovative ideas for improving player performance.
Desired Skills:
Strong interest in soccer and athlete performance.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Competency in appropriate software programs.
Requirements:
Enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program and eligible for college credit.
Available 20-25 hours per week.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
