Loudoun County Public Library (LCPL) is looking to fill several part-time Library Assistant positions across the Library system.
Current vacancies and departments as follows:
Ashburn - Teen & Circulation Brambleton - Teen Middleburg - Generalist Sterling - Children's The ideal candidates are enthusiastic, service-minded, community-oriented, and collaborative life-long learners who embrace the library's primary role of promoting the joy of reading and learning in the society.
As members of an enthusiastic team, Library Assistants provide direct customer service in reference, reader's advisory and circulation functions, as well as assist customers in the use of library resources and the use of technologies.
Library Assistants plan and lead programs for children, teen and adult audiences.
Successful candidates will be passionate, creative team players with excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.
All staff work in a collaborative environment to complete daily tasks, conduct programs and coordinate outreach.
LCPL provides services seven (7) days a week.
Work schedules vary and include weekends, evenings and holidays.
Hiring salary commensurate with experience Job Requirements Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to a High School Diploma and two (2) years prior experience providing direct customer service to the public.
Preferred
Qualifications:
Experience with Microsoft Office programs Bilingual - Spanish/English Special Requirements Requires ability to push or pull wheeled carts weighing 200 pounds.
Constant bending, stooping, reaching, walking and standing required.
Ability to lift 40 pounds required.
Passport Acceptance Agent certification and Notary Public License may be required within one year of hire date.
Post Conditional Offer Contingencies Successful candidate will undergo a criminal background check.
