Summary:
The Lead Behavioral Technician will be responsible for drawing upon their experience in the field to educate and train new staff on professional and clinical skills as well as client protocols.
The Lead Behavioral Technician will serve as the facilitator for the client team by facilitating communication between all team members, leading team meetings, managing and disseminating client data, and ensuring that all team members have the necessary support, training, and materials to assist the client in reaching their full potential.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Conduct skill acquisition and behavior reduction assessments under the supervision of the Behavior Analyst.
Assist in the development of individual treatment plans.
Provide initial and ongoing staff education and training on client behavioral and skill acquisition protocols.
Provide positive and constructive feedback to staff regarding clinical and professional skills on a regular basis.
Facilitate communication and collaboration between all members of the treatment team including staff, Behavior Analysts, parents, and outside health professionals.
Facilitate day-to-day operations of the team by ensuring that all necessary paperwork, materials, scheduling, and documentation are up to date.
Update & maintain data collection systems & disseminate information to team.
Provide direct client care in 1:
1 and group settings utilizing a combination of intensive teaching and natural environment training arrangements.
Follow the prescribed behavioral skill acquisition and behavior reduction protocols.
Follow and record data for prescribed toilet training protocols.
Collect, record, and summarize data on observable client behavior.
Conduct parent and caregiver training in line with client's individualized treatment and behavior reduction protocols.
Effectively communicate with parents and caregivers regarding client progress as instructed by the BCBA.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Ability to effectively deliver constructive feedback to staff regarding job performance.
Ability to train staff to fluency on various protocols and treatment techniques using verbal and written explanation, modeling, guided practice, and review of independent performance.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with clients, co-workers, supervisors, and community members.
Must have a valid driving license and reliable transportation and be willing and able to travel between different job sites.
Experience:
Required:
At least 6 months exemplary performance as a Registered Behavioral Technician/ABA Therapist experience with Verbal Behavior and Natural Environment Training.
EDUCATION:
Required:
Bachelor's degree ( Applied Behavior Analysis, Speech and Hearing Services, or related field.
) Or Prior experience as an ABA Therapist/Behavioral Technician may be substituted for the Bachelor's degree requirement.
Preferred:
Coursework in Applied Behavior Analysis and interest in pursuing certification in the field of ABA.
